An attractive native Australian palm, with a smooth, and slightly bottle shaped trunk and weeping foxtail like fronds.
Ideal for landscaping around pools, houses and as patio or indoor plant potted. Perfect for hot, tropical areas.
The foxtail palm will tolerate light frosts and seasonal dryness, once established.
Thrives in open, sunny to partly shaded positions and will tolerate exposed, windy sites.
Keep moist but not wet and drier in the winter. It is recommended to fertilise in the warmer months.

Light Requirements: Prefers full sun to part shade. The Foxtail Palm thrives in bright, direct sunlight but can tolerate some shade, especially during the hottest part of the day.
Watering: Water regularly, especially during the growing season. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Reduce watering in winter when the plant’s growth slows.
Soil: Prefers well-draining soil. A sandy, loamy soil mix with good organic matter is ideal. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer 2-3 times a year during the growing season (spring and summer) to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage.
Pruning: Remove dead or damaged fronds to maintain appearance and encourage new growth. The Foxtail Palm naturally sheds its old fronds, making it relatively low-maintenance.
Temperature and Humidity: Prefers warm temperatures and moderate humidity. Ideal temperature range is 70-90°F (21-32°C). Protect from temperatures below 30°F (-1°C).
Cold Tolerance: Hardy down to 30°F (-1°C). In cooler climates, consider growing the Foxtail Palm in a container that can be moved indoors during winter.
