Frangipanis are relatively small trees, growing up to 5-6m in height, but what the lack in height they make it in width, often becoming as wide as they are tall. They have a well behaved root system making it perfect for the home garden and also growing in pots. They are very hardy which means they are drought, heat, neglect and insect tolerant. They drop there leaves in winter allowing them to get maximum winter sun and in summer they provide shade for themselves.
It has gnarled branches, long leaves and distinctive flowers, which appear in clusters and the flower has a very perfumed scent. The leaves appearance is dark green on the top and a lighter shade of green underneath. A cut made on any part of the tree will exude a milky, sticky sap that is poisonous to both humans and animals.
There are many types of different frangipanis, we supply the “Bail whirl”, which has a flower of 10 petals instead of the usual 5. The “QLD Don’s yellow,” which is a yellow golden flower and the back of the flower is yellow and pink. The “Cobaki Confetti”, which has purple and yellow petals and we also supply the “Darwin streaky pink” which has pink petals and in the centre it has a redish-orange colour.
