Alcantarea are wonderful giant bromeliads for sun and part shade. Stunning and colourful feature plants for tropical style gardens, they also thrive in our climate in Melbourne.
The Alcantarea imperialis ‘Rubra’ will not handle frost very well so frosty spots should be avoided and good drainage should be provided.
