The European fan palm or Chamaerops humilis has become very popular due to its cold hardiness and for it’s toleration against wind. The European fan palm / Chamaerops humilis grows in multiple trunk clumps. Growing from the base sucklings, give this palm a shrubby look. Trunks are covered in leaf bases and brown fibres that can reach over 20cm in diameter.

It is a slow growing palm taking it 10-15 years to reach a height of 2.5m. It has triangular, fan shaped, leaves range from bluish- green to silvery grey. Leaves grow outward then upward.
