Light Requirements: Prefers full sun to part shade. While it can tolerate some shade, the best leaf colour is achieved in bright, indirect light. Avoid exposing it to harsh, direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can scorch the leaves.
Watering: Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering during the winter months when the plant’s growth slows.
Soil: Prefers well-draining soil. Use a rich, loamy potting mix with added perlite or sand to improve drainage.
Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) every 4-6 weeks to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage.
Pruning: Remove dead or damaged leaves to maintain a neat appearance. Trim any leggy growth to encourage a bushier form.
Temperature and Humidity: Prefers warm temperatures and high humidity. Ideal temperature range is 65-85°F (18-29°C). Protect from temperatures below 50°F (10°C) and avoid cold drafts.
