The Cabbage tree palm or Livistona australis is a native Australian palm which ranges along the east coast from northern Queensland to Southern Victoria.
It is a large palm growing up to 30m in height and a 30cm trunk in diameter.
Cabbage tree palm / Livistona australis have green glossy leaves with little spikes going down frond.
The cabbage tree palm thrives in a part shade position but still can grow in full sun. It prefers moist, organically-rich soils or well drained soil. It is also salt, frost and wind tolerant meaning it can handle coastal conditions.
